Present-hunting and dinner at Suki-Ya at Marina Square

Met Sharlene after her work to hunt for Sherlin's bd present. Then, settled at Suki-Ya for buffet dinner. Eat, chat, eat and chat. Home. Yup, two weeks of Beverage coming to an end. Probably going over to Banquet or In-room dining, yet to check it out. Busy schedules next week and only one off day.

30 Oct 2009, Friday

First time doing banquet bar. Have to set-up and stuff. Keep pouring soft drinks most of the time. Had Cheng teng, nice nice. Went to Serene's house after work. Reached her house already 2 plus am le. The usuals were there. Some left early and some stayed. Took cab home after that cos was raining non-stop(since I stepped out of my workplace) and Im really tired cos working 10 hours straight before that.

Lobby lounge. Learnt how to do Mojito, Berries Mojito, Singapore Sling, Daiquiri and Margarita. Methods of preparation and doing varies from one another.

First day of Beverage at Greenhouse bar

This is the banquet uniform cos there's no smaller beverage uniform for me. How to set-up in the morning and afternoon, busy periods, operating hours, proper handling to another bartender, doing inventory, requisition, stocking up and cleaning up.

Met up wid Jacques after her work and rotted at MS Starbucks while waiting for Chin Ya to finish class. Had Caramel Fruppucino. So nice. And dinner at Aston Specialties Suntec City wid the two girls. Carrefour, book fair at atrium and home.

Last day at Greenhouse

together, whether good or bad. Ha.

he's from TP. Seriously, he sings really

"Dearest all:

This is my last day at Greenhouse. Thank you for all your guidance and patience in teaching me. A big thank you to all of you. I have learnt and grown a lot wid all of you. Though Im in another department(beverage), I will work hard and play hard. Same goes to all of you too. Dun forget to call me out if there's any gathering or outing. Be sure to miss me yeah! Always willing to to lend a helping hand when others needed. Hardworking and pays attention to details will be her bonus pint. With given more exposures, she can be more confidently to shine in the hospitality industry.

There was a big wooha when I first started working at Greenhouse. People from various departments came and told me that Im famous at Ritz and that everyone knew me. I was taken aback by their words. They said though Im small sized but Im able to do things which many cant(carry big oval trays full of plates and stuffs an do things double fast). Its through learning and accumulated experience that Im able to do things this way.

Alice, dun think too much. Im not in your shoes so I cant give much advice. At least there's someone watching over you and making sure that you are safe working over in his hotel. Bad days will be over soon. Jus bear wid it first. Since you had already made this decision, dun regret. Instead, look at what you have now and cherish. I know its a chore going to work now but take tis opportunity to learn more and soon, you will find things that that are not the way they are now. Dwelling on it doesnt help and only make yourself more gloomy and sad.

Absent from work and took mc, same for yesterday. Woke up and found myself voiceless. Ha. How to go work in this state and that working at f&b restaurant require us to engage and interact wid the guests? Lie on the bed for 2 days. Cos of my absence, Cynthia got to work on my behalf on top of her usual shift which means double, from 730am to 12am. So guilty abt it. Thanks girl:)

Morning shift. Three more days at Greenhouse restaurant before going to Beverage. Went to try the beverage uniform but I cant fit in cos too big for me so the beverage manager asked me to wear banquet uniform. Sick, was having flu and sneezing the whole day.

Carol's belated birthday celebration

Surprised Carol at her doorstep. Initially, Jasmin, Zheng ying and I reached her house first. We placed her present and cake on the floor, rung the bell and hid in a corner but no one ans. Meiteng and Serne came, Meiteng shouted postman and Carol's mum ans the door. We signalled to her and Carol's mum tricked Carol into coming out, saying there's a cat lurking around and asked her to take a look. We shouted surprise when we saw her. She was taken aback.We dressed her up wid the clothes we bought her. And, Zheng ying helped her put on make-up, so do Meiteng and Serene too. Cut the cake at her house to prevent the hassle of bringing around and afraid that the cake will melt and stuff. Ate at Thai express at Paragon and to Oosh for a drink. Yeah, flavoured virgin Margarita. Its nice. Aftermath, Carol, Meiteng and I went to St James, together wid Carol's frens. Had a fun time there even though its so squeezy. Took night rider together and yup, I reached home at abt 5am in the morning. Next oting probably on Zheng ying and Meiteng's birthdays.
