25 Nov 2009, Wed

Had trainees feedback session before starting work in the afternoon. Ate a lot during break-daily special chic chop wid mashed potatoes, rice wid veg and fish, 1 scone and 2 potatoes and onion tarts. Fulfilling! Was abled to go home early and had supper wid mum.

The urge for a quick one

Helping put at the ballroom. Everyone looked at me in awe when I carried the oval trays. Nice catching up wid Jacques on the bus home.

23 Nov 2009, Mon

Wat a muddlehead I am! Was suppose to report work at 11am and I reported work at 9am. Everyone was laughing at me. Anyway, started work early and so, ended work early too.

22 Nov 2009, Sunday

Marked the end of a week and second week at Banquet. 2 more weeks to go. Prepared for a solemnisation ceremony. Glad that everything went smoothly.

First day as trainee Banquet Operations Manager

Leslie and I are given the chance to learn sth new and so here we are, tadah, in new uniforms. Hope work is getting better:)

8 Nov 2009, Sun
Last day of Beverage. Morning shift. Working at Greenhouse front bar. Set-up together wid May and Gobi. Didnt expect that the response for Mojito was so overwhelming. May and I made a total of 100 plus Mojito in that 3 hours of operation for Sunday Brunch. May said its probably due to me that the "business was good" and that it wasn't the same wid Leslie around. I guess its jus pure luck. Went buffet dinner at MS Suki Ya wid Ira and Biyin. Ate and gossiped. Ha. And home sweet home. Tmr is the start of Banquet and its my off day. How good is that? Will be working at Banquet for a month and in room dining 2 weeks. Till then, more updates soon.

Zheng ying's birthday. Happy birthday, my dear girl! So coincidentally that Its my off day and actually I only got one off day which is Tuesday but cos of the long working hours at Banquet bar so I got another off day. So nice huh? Met up wid Carol earlier at 2 plus and shopped for Zheng ying and Meiteng's bd presents. Couldn't find Meiteng's present(she wanted to have the Harry Potter and the half blood prince in hard book cover and we wanted to buy for her cos she like it and we know she will be reading it) at the bookstores but to no avail and we have to think of other alternatives. And, Jasmin joined us later. Wanted to buy a vintage clutch for Zheng ying and its the last display piece and the condition is not very good or the salesperson said there's more at Orchard Central and at that time, time was running out for us and we dropped the idea. Walked around Taka, Wisma and Ion, we bought a pair of black pumps for Zheng ying at Schu and a pair of Lee Cooper pumps for Meiteng. Cabbed to Sixth Avenue, Dunearn Road-The Tea Party. In cab, Carol kept one of Meiteng's pumps in her bag and mixed up Zheng ying and meiteng's pumps in a box and see if they will notice. Walked here and there and we couldn't find the shop and we called for directions. Hees. Bought two slices of cakes upon reaching and asked the waitress to serve it to us later. While the cakes were being served, we played a trick on them, asking them to eat within a minute. And so, they lost the bet but there's no forfeit. We passed them the presents and asked them to choose. They opened up and found out that either the shoes were wrongly mixed up or there was a missing shoe. Meiteng had a missing shoe and Carol came up wid a lie that she left it at her house and asked her to get it from her after the dinner. Both Zheng ying and Meiteng actually believed. Halfway thru, Carol confessed that the missing shoe was in her bag. Its a surprise afterall. Played Taboo. Imagine 15 people playing and how noisy it was? We played, laughed, took pics. Its was a great time. Took bus to Bukit Batok and trained home:) Pics will be up soon.

These few days helping out at Banquet bar. Have to set-up and stuff. Overall still okie but jus a little tiring. Worked 10 hours each day.

Happy birthday to Sherlin and advanced celebration for Grandfather

Happy birthday Sherlin! Hope you have fun ytd and all your wishes come true. Meet up real soon ya. Pics which were taken ytd will post up soon. Today is my off day and we celebrated Grandfather's birthday in advance at the hawker centre opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre. A little expensive but its a good chance to get-together. If world end is coming, wat is the first thing that come to your mind or do?

Present-hunting and dinner at Suki-Ya at Marina Square

Met Sharlene after her work to hunt for Sherlin's bd present. Then, settled at Suki-Ya for buffet dinner. Eat, chat, eat and chat. Home. Yup, two weeks of Beverage coming to an end. Probably going over to Banquet or In-room dining, yet to check it out. Busy schedules next week and only one off day.

30 Oct 2009, Friday

First time doing banquet bar. Have to set-up and stuff. Keep pouring soft drinks most of the time. Had Cheng teng, nice nice. Went to Serene's house after work. Reached her house already 2 plus am le. The usuals were there. Some left early and some stayed. Took cab home after that cos was raining non-stop(since I stepped out of my workplace) and Im really tired cos working 10 hours straight before that.

Lobby lounge. Learnt how to do Mojito, Berries Mojito, Singapore Sling, Daiquiri and Margarita. Methods of preparation and doing varies from one another.

First day of Beverage at Greenhouse bar

This is the banquet uniform cos there's no smaller beverage uniform for me. How to set-up in the morning and afternoon, busy periods, operating hours, proper handling to another bartender, doing inventory, requisition, stocking up and cleaning up.

23 Oct 2009, Friday

Met up wid Jacques after her work and rotted at MS Starbucks while waiting for Chin Ya to finish class. Had Caramel Fruppucino. So nice. And dinner at Aston Specialties Suntec City wid the two girls. Carrefour, book fair at atrium and home. Hais. Sth unlucky happened to me. Met a pervert on the bus home. Initially, I thought he was jus putting his hand on the seat and din know that actually he was brushing his hand against my leg. And the worst was, he got off the same bus stop as me. Afraid, I called up my mum as she had already finished work and having dinner wid my sister and two brothers. Waited for them at the bus stop and they rushed over upon receiving my call. My mum even took a newspaper and walked to the carpark and checked if the man was still there. Wat an unlucky day!
